Gallbladder Treatment

Nowadays, special attention is paid to minimally invasive surgical procedures with the best cosmetic results. Laparoscopic Surgery was born out of this need. This has resulted in less pain, faster recovery and a shorter return to work.

Since laparoscopic surgery does not involve large incisions, the cosmetic results are also better. In this method, the search for a single hole (Sils) instead of several holes has started. Sils is most commonly used in gallbladder removal surgeries.

A good evaluation is made with ultrasonography before the operation; it is applied to suitable cases. A trocar specially made for this method (a tool used to insert hand tools into the abdomen) is placed through a small incision made in the navel. This trocar has 3 holes where the camera and 2 hand tools will enter. The gallbladder is removed from the hole in the navel with specially made angled or flexible tools. When the patient recovers, a barely noticeable surgical scar remains in the navel.
